THE SELECTION PROCESS
- Entries must fully meet the submission criteria
- All required paperwork must be submitted on or before the deadline.
- On the submitted paperwork, the Nurse Honoree subcommittee Chair (or designee) will replace the names of nominees with a unique identifier in order to assure an unbiased process.
- All submitted nominee’s paperwork will be reviewed and scored against the delineated criteria.
- Each committee member will assign a summary score for each of the three characteristic areas not to exceed the maximum for that designated area. The summary score will be derived from the points allocated to each criterion under the respective characteristic. The scores are averaged, and the nominee receives a final score.
- The nominees shall be rank ordered from highest to lowest scores. The four nominees with the highest scores are selected and their names are presented to the scholarship chairperson.
- The Nurse Honoree Subcommittee Chair will notify the successful nominees by phone and by a congratulatory letter that includes information on the appropriate documents to return, and how to purchase tickets and ads for the souvenir booklet.
- The names of the four selected nominees will be announced at the chapter meeting immediately preceding the annual scholarship event.
SELECTION CRITERIA
The selection criteria is divided into three areas namely:
- Nurse characteristics (maximum of 20 points)
- Nurse contributions (maximum of 45 points)
- Nurse career experiences (maximum of 35 points).
